Snoopy And The Peanuts Gang Bring Year End Festive Cheer To Resorts World Genting

Every year, Christmas is my favourite day because it is also my birthday! Yes, I was born on Christmas day and my mommy said I was her best Christmas gift from God. When Christmas is near, I love to see beautiful Christmas decorations at shopping centers and hotels. This year, at Resorts World Genting, there is 'Tour The World With Snoopy' as there are 52 Snoopy in costumes located at various locations at Sky Avenue and First World Hotel.

The Peanuts gang parade will see them joined by 11 friends as they light up the resort with their exuberant presence but the street procession is only one of many activities in the pipeline to celebrate the holiday season. A main highlight of Tour the World with Snoopy, to be held from 1 November 2017 to 1 January 2018, involves the friendly neighbourhood beagle showcasing various countries. Be among the first in the world to catch Snoopy in 52 custom-made costumes of different countries and cultures - the figurines will be placed at various locations in SkyAvenue and First World Rainforest.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the comic strip Peanuts - all creations of Charles M. Schulz - first became famous in 1950 but they have remained popular over the years. Today Snoopy still captures the imagination of all with his funny and buoyant nature. I love Snoopy since I was a small girl and now my children love Snoopy too.

Visitors to the resort can catch Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Santa Claus and company on parade from 25 November 2017 onwards during the Tour the World with Snoopy period. The colourful characters will meet and greet visitors as they spread festive cheer at Sky Avenue and Genting Grand daily.

The largest Snoopy you will ever see will also make an impact at the mall; the larger-than-life six-metre high inflatable Snoopy will be erected at Sky Avenue Level 1.

Genting Rewards members can look forward to own some exclusive merchandise - a limited edition piece of Snoopy fun. They may utilise their Genting Points to make redemption for a limited edition of Snoopy lanyard. Shoppers who spend above RM400 at SkyAvenue will receive a Snoopy notebook while those who spend above RM600 will receive a Snoopy tote bag.

Adventures of the Monkey King - The Golden Hooped Rod at Resorts World Genting

Recently my mommy and I watched the Adventures of the Monkey King - The Golden Hooped Rod at Resorts World Genting. Thanks to Resorts World Genting for this invitation. I really loved this acrobatic show in 3D visual effects.  The whole show was awesome and I would recommend everyone to watch it.

The Monkey King is a mythological figure in Journey to the West, one of the most popular classical novels in China. The Adventures of the Monkey King: The Golden-Hooped Rod that will run from 11 November 2017 to 1 January 2018, presents a simple story of good versus evil that will nevertheless still charm its audience. To be held at Genting International Showroom, the 65-minute show is scheduled for 9pm daily with additional shows at 4pm, 5pm and 8pm on selected dates.

Performed by talents from all over China specializing in acrobatic performances, who are also members of the National Performing Art Troupe; the plot, though predictable, unfolds in a thrilling manner in this production.

The story begins in the event after the Monkey King has claimed the Golden-Hooped Rod from the East China Sea. It is discovered that the enemy of the rod, Chi You, has also been released, and now intends to destroy it.

In order to battle Chi You, the Monkey King and the rod must work together and go through Mana Practice, an exercise that enhances one's life energy. The Monkey King manages to master the ability, but then the rod reveals its weakness - something that Chi You is also aware of.

As it turns out, Chi You manages to lure the rod back to the East Coast Sea and imprison it. This, of course, leads to the ultimate battle between the Monkey King and Chi You.

Tickets to enjoy the show are priced at RM176 (VIP), RM136 (PS1) and RM96 (PS2). Genting Rewards Card (GRC) members enjoy 10% discount.

Mc Donald's Story Telling Competition 2017

Recently I joined the Mc Donald's Story Telling competition for year 2017. The title of my story was 'The Floating Stone'. Last year I joined the same competition and told a story about 'The Honest Woodcutter'. I love to tell stories and this year I was not nervous because it was my second time telling stories in front of the judges and others. To read my blog about this for last year's competition, click http://mel-happy-blog.blogspot.my/2016/12/mc-donalds-story-telling-contest.html.

This year there were more than 700 participants from all the states in Malaysia and selected ones were to tell their story in a live audition at a Mc Donald's branch on different dates. I was happy to be chosen for the live audition and told my story early November. I was a little nervous but not too nervous because it was my second time. Here is a video my mommy recorded of me. I did not bring props to win like many other participants. I just joined this to build up my confidence in public speaking.

The final will be on 25 Nov 2017 and the prizes for the winners are as below:

I learnt a lot from joining this contest. I am not that nervous compared to last year's story telling competition. I enjoyed listening to other participants' stories. Good luck to all the participants for the finals!

My visit to Lost World Of Tambun

Recently during the Deepavali school holidays, my parents brought my brother and I to Lost World Of Tambun. It was my first time there and I really enjoyed visiting this place. This theme park is different from other theme parks I have been to because there are lots of beautiful limestones.

There were lots of Halloween games we played to win Eclipse and Pocky.

We visited the Petting Zoo which was my favourite because I love to pet and feed animals. I learnt a lot about these animals here.

This hedgehog is very spiky and you have to becareful when holding it.

I saw snakes, tapirs, racoons, hamsters, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, birds and many other animals here. I want to come back again to see these cute animals. My brother had his first horse ride here and I loved to pet the cats at Catopia.

My brother enjoyed playing at the kids pool water slide the most. I liked Lupe Adventure which is a very short and not scary roller coaster ride. I went on this twice with my mommy.

At night, my family and I soaked ourselves at the warm and relaxing natural hot spring waters. There were many colorful and beautiful lights there. We played at Saphira's Lair which was for children and adults.

Soaking ourselves in hot spring water is very healthy for our skin.  Wish there was a hot spring near where I stay.

After our hot spring experience, we walked back to Lost World Hotel, Sunway which was very nearby. This hotel was very comfortable, clean and good.

This whole trip was truly an unforgettable one because my family was very happy and we enjoyed every moment here. We want to come back again. To read more about Lost World of Tambun, please visit my mommy's blog HERE. Thanks.

Child Aid Asia 2017 Concert - Magical By Youth For Youth

I attended Child Aid Asia Kuala Lumpur : Magical by youth for youth concert held at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) recently. This concert was performed by talented young children. Some were very experienced and some were first timers.

Child Aid Asia KL is to raise funds for underprivileged children who are poor and not doing well in their studies but are talented in music or performing arts. These children would be given a chance to learn and do what they are talented in.

Themed A Magical Journey, the concert event was supported by Kiwanis Club of Damansara. This concert brought children closer as friendship was formed and they learnt to work together. The concert is attended by guest-of-honour Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, Chairman of Malaysian Chinese Culture and Arts consultative council and blossom arts festival, Governor of Kiwanis Malaysia Mr. Vincent Lim and Dr. Mario De Castilo. The president of Kiwanis Club Damansara, Siaw Wei Tang, and the co-founder of ChildAid Asia Malaysia, Ralph Lim were also present.

Child Aid Asia managed to raise RM 70,000 of which RM10,000 of the proceeds will be presented to POBP Day Spring Selangor and RM10,000 to Matu Social Organization (MSO) to help them in their daily living. Child Aid Asia will receive RM 50,000. Thanks to donors and supporters Suntory and Paramount Properties for contributing RM50,000 and RM10,000 respectively.

Sixteen-year-old Yap is an award-winning musician. Among his achievements are winning the Grand Prix Award in the Junior category of the Asia Pacific Yamaha Electone 2014, and winning the silver medal at the Chopin 2012 Competition where he also won the Dato' Ruslan Award.

Fourteen-year-old Lau, for his part, is incredible with his prowess in beatboxing. His talent has taken him to as far as Germany, where he was invited to Munich to take part in the Super Kids talent competition last year. The teenager's love for music began at the age of three with the violin, but he discovered his love for beatboxing at eight, and has pursued the latter wholeheartedly since then.

I enjoyed the concert very much because I love music. I love to support events like this. Thank you for reading my blog post.

Hotel On The Park, Resorts World Genting

Hotel On The Park is the new hotel at Resorts World Genting replacing the old Theme Park Hotel. This new hotel is suitable for families or a group of friends to stay because there are mostly quad sharing and sixers rooms. This hotel was designed with more beds as Resorts World Genting is expecting an influx of visitors with the soon to be opened Twentieth Century Fox World.

There is a giant bench for customers to sit and a high pile of giant tea cups stacked up to the ceiling. There is also a trick mirror at the hotel lobby where I took many photos.

There are still 448 rooms with no structural changes but the new design makes the rooms look more spacious and very cute. My family stayed in the sixers room. There are a total of 3 queen sized beds. I loved the upper level of the bunk bed. There is luggage storage space below the raised sleeping platforms. What a great space saving idea!

I love the cute designs in the rooms especially the TV cabinet. In lieu of expensive heavy drapes and curtains, artists pitched in to hand draw designs in white paint on blackout roller blinds, resulting in original works of art in every room.

Cute hand drawn pictures are on the walls too.

The bathrooms are separate rooms for the shower and toilet. There are 2 sinks so visitors do not need to fight if they want to use the sink at the same time.

Here are some photos of the quad sharing room type.

There are also rooms for the disabled. These rooms are more spacious for people on wheel chairs.

There are also honeymoon suites located in the valley wing which overlooks an uninterrupted panorama of the Genting valley offering stunning views of natural mountain forests. The suites designed around the four fun stages of romance - courtship, proposal, wedding and honeymoon are all executed as stand-alone units.

For more information on Hotel On The Park, visit www.rwgenting.com or call 03-6101 1118.
