It’s Sungei Wang Plaza’s 45th Anniversary this year and what better way to celebrate its anniversary by winning The BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards 2021-2022, Nation's Pride Brand of the Year in Nation's Most ICONIC & Renowned Mall. In fact, this is a timely recognition before our launch of the iconic Sungei Wang Plaza’s Mid-Autumn Festival. This year, Sungei Wang Plaza introduces its latest cultural and art installation ‘Mid-Autumn The Tales of the Moon’ running from 1st till the 25th of September 2022.
“After a 3-year break from hosting a full-scale Mid-Autumn Festival, it is now time for us to bring back one of Sungei Wang Plaza’s most anticipated event of the year, our 6th Edition of the Mid-Autumn Lantern Parade. This parade carries many fond memories of exciting times together with Sungei Wang Plaza’s great heritage. The Mid-Autumn Festival has always been a platform to promote our cultural and heritage to locals and tourists alike”, says Mr Ng Yih Chen, Chairman of Sungei Wang Plaza Management Corporation.
The mall is transformed into an insta-worthy photo and video-taking site with a giant inflatable moon at the Centre Court, a giant rabbit at the Main Entrance, 4 hand-painted jade rabbits, and an entire street filled with over 500 lanterns along the Lantern Walk.
Sungei Wang Plaza will also be giving out over 500 goodie bags to invite shoppers on a first come first serve basis to join us for this upcoming Lantern Parade on 10th of September 2022 at the Main Entrance. There will be loads of activities and performances on that day which includes a drumming workshop, a lantern painting workshop and a colouring contest. Not to be missed a line-up of performances will start at 3.00pm at the Centre Court and the launch of ‘Mid-Autumn The Tales of the Moon’ will commence at 6.00pm. Also, meet your famous local celebrities’ @kelkelhee, @klayheng, @adelinewongg and @zuvia_p from Dissy and Coat the event. The Lantern Parade will be flagged off by Yang Berhormat Tuan Fong Kui Lun Member of Parliament for Bukit Bintang and will span across a 1-kilometre distance around Bukit Bintang. The Lantern Parade will be graced by over 32 lion dance troupes including 2 lion dance that will be performed for Launching Ceremony! This event is not to be missed.
